a letter to the abandoned

begging for those you love to stick around holds no more space in your heart from here on out.

know your worth, pretty girl.

if they can so easily leave, it’s your turn to so easily let go.

it’s not about being disrespectful, rude, or petty;
it’s about creating healthy boundaries.
taking the power back that so many others so quickly drained you of.

fighting for their love, attention, forgiveness until their return is not a win. their return is no longer a reward.

the win is choosing you. the reward is your own happiness.
taking care of yourself. doing the things you love. glowing up. accomplishing your goals and dreams without them.

stop fearing rejection & rest in reflection of who you actually are—
not who others say you are.

you are beautiful, kind, funny, and loving.
their absence will always speak volumes over their own character, but it will no longer slap a label on your self-worth.

we are no longer allowing the absence of small individuals defeat us any longer.

set up your strict, healthy boundaries.
let them watch your achievements from afar.
forgive them and let them.
it’s no longer about those who have caused you pain; it’s about you & your happiness.

release what no longer serves you and take back your power.
you deserve this.

sincerely,
a girl & her abandonment wounds.
