I am thankful for.. mean girls.

It’s hard to be thankful for the mean girls. Mean girls are well—mean.

But this season we are thankful for the mean girls, too.

The girls who silently smirk in our faces. The girls who falsely smile in our faces. The girls who wait for us to leave the room to begin speaking about us. The girls who plan shopping trips as a group without us; the girls who single us out. The girls who pull up our social media accounts for a good chuckle. The girls who create an unsettling energy shift when we walk upon the room. The girls who laugh at our pain and/or struggles. The girls who make us feel less than, unwanted, and alone. The girls who make us feel plain and homely.

The girls who are not “girls’ girls.”

We are forever thankful for the mean girls.

Mean girls teach us why it’s important to be kind, loving, and considerate. Mean girls show us why it is so important to include all and love big regardless. Mean girls express the importance for the need for more kind words and less gossip. But most importantly, mean girls matter, too.

Jesus died for the mean girls, just as He died for me and you.

If you are dealing with a mean girl, I am so sorry. It’s hard. It’s lonely. It’s discouraging. I know, friend.

Allow me to feed you some truth for once,

Song of songs 4:7.. “you are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.”

Don’t let the words of a mean girl tear you down. Do not let the lies of the enemy make you feel what you are not. Rather let the one true word, His words, heal you with what you are; more importantly, Whose you are.

The enemy uses mean girls to do his dirty work. He hopes to turn us away from the joy and abundance the Lord has blessed us with. And if we have learned anything yet it’s “when the enemy goes hard, God goes harder.”

There’s no time to shy away in sadness; it’s time to love the mean girl even more.

 Hear me out, the mean girls do not consider our pain. Jesus does. He considers everything, yet loves us anyways. Mean girls feed off what we lack to keep us from gaining anything more. Jesus uses what we lack to create room for everything more. He takes our pain and creates purpose; especially with mean girls.

If you are a mean girl, allow me to feed you some truth;

Proverbs 12:18.. “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

Be kind. Your words/actions are reckless, and they do hurt. Stop using your words to bring destruction to others’ and use them to heal those around you.

All girls, we are called to uplift, encourage, and be a good friend. To love one another. For one main purpose and eternally great reasoning.

1 Thessalonians 5:10-11..”He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
